This is a surprise to me. The Utes are known to be working the portal for help at WR, S, and OL. It’s curious they used a scholarship on another RB. I thought they only had 1 or 2 left. I guess Whitt expects to lose a couple of players to the portal which would make room for a few more recruits at the positions of need.
You like to go after needs no doubt, however, when you can get someone that is better than most of your board it may make sense to pick up a very good player. Depth at RB and LB is the stock of special teams which are 20 snaps a game so they see the field right away.
