he can watch a ton of film, get strong and lead quite a bit from the side/front
I donāt know how to do download an interview from ESPN700 that Sean OāConnell did with Andy Ludwig, but if you want to hear a really good interview, go give it a listen.
Good article about Cam Calhoun
Iāve been meaning to ask, does anybody have any insider info about whoās starting at QB this Saturday against BYE?
I donāt knowā¦good question. After the last two games we might hope itās one of the physical therapists trying to get folks healthy.
Iām guessing that Cam Rising will be a game time decision.
The worst part about last weekās painful loss, is that this week is a BYE, so we have to live with the bad taste for 2 weeks. Iāll find some sort of football to watch this weekend to take my mind of it, but mostly, Iām happy Iām just suffering as a fan, rather than as a player. Iām guessing the team, coaches, and everyone around the day-to-day operation of the programs feel a lot worst than any of us.
Going to enjoy the late summer weather, spend time visiting our grandsons, and take a few days off from football. All of you have a safe and happy weekend.
I hate to say it, but after Whitās comments today, Iām starting to think weāve seen the last of Cam Rising in an Utah uniform. Between the comments about Rising now not being medically cleared (huh?) and the long term future, I have a hard time believing heāll be back at any point.
I just donāt think you say something like this unless you think itās a very real possibility.
What I donāt understand is thisā¦Rising was a āgame-timeā decision two games ago. Huh?
As my interest in CFB has significantly waned, I donāt care quite as much. Nonetheless, Iām still curious.
I suppose this goes along with a thought that Iāve had on Rising. He is a hell of a competitor. Heās also fragile. He does have a history of injuries, think back to 2020 when he had that neck injury, iirc. So, he doesnāt have a great future ahead of him as a player. Perhaps he may want to hang up the cleats and become a coach? Maybe he can pass on his passion to other QBs. Maybe like John Beck, become some sort of QB guru, if he (Cam) has that knack. Iāve enjoyed his playing, but he needs to think of his future.
Honestly if Cam wants to be a coach and canāt play then he needs to just say so like Bottari did. Step up on the sidelines and keep the team pumped. Weād all respect that.
What the fans canāt stand is the absurdly long yo-yo will he wonāt be game that Whitt has created. A one week āmaybe readyā is one thing. Going on for months itās an absurd circus that hurts the brand.
I feel like we are in a fish or cut bait point in the season. Experience matters but so does having real current live game experience. If Cam canāt play this week then let Wilson run the season. Prepare for the future. Because Iāll bet money right now that if Cam comes in any later that heāll be rusty and start pressing and get hurt again. This seems easy to predict.
Itās going to be Wilson at QB1 until it isnāt. The positive is hat the kid is learning is invaluable; and FWIW he will be the starter next season - no question.
