Utah BYU Pre-Game Chat

These things seem to be getting worse, and xTwitter gives them a platform for their idiocy.

They can think what they want. I will be shocked if this is a blowout in favor of either team.

well,. I dont fancy venturing into tutah county for any reason, but anyone wanns do SOMETHING to get together? If I had the resources to do something Id invite you folks over to my building courtyard - it has BBQ grills and everything! I think one has to provide their own propane.. I’ll look at that.

Print journalism in general is in massive decline, so I conisder us fortunate to have ANYTHING from the Chrony anymore. It isnt merely a propaganda mouthpiece like DesNews or The Daily Universe.

My 30+ year freind Robert Gehrke is one of the best things to ever come from the Chrony’s history. We worked on the Pat Shea senate campaign in 1994. THIRTY YEARS AGOOOOO omg.

The Game Day guys are liking byu-provo. That’s a good thing. Also, Kyle VanNoy was giving the zoobs a pep talk. You remember him, the guy who never beat Utah.

When David Locke started the “Locked on” Network, I think it was a cool idea and he does pretty good with Locked on Jazz, but he has hired so many just out and out buffoons for the college programs. Locked on Utes, Cougars, and Big-12 are all absolutely insufferable.

Unfortunately the Chrony lacks guidance as they managed, a decade or so ago, to be completely separated from the U.

Their advisors can merely suggest things, they can’t really teach them. While I love the idea of an independent voice, it’s been very problematic as they often violate rules of journalism or make poor decisions.

ah I hadnt heard of the separation. But that does help explain why it’sbsolutely nothing like it was in Robert Gehrke’s time as chief editor in the 90s.

At least it isnt a propaganda organ like The Daily Universe and Provo Herald.

That seems to got back to when I first started at the U. Sometimes they wrote stuff just to get a reaction, or to be “edgy.” I do wonder if any journalism classes or classes teach the basics of: who, what, when, where, why (if you can), and how. Too many opinion pieces pretending to be news pieces make it to print or screen.

OMG I thought I might just watch Texas Tech get beet by Arizona State and they just crapped down their legs in the last minutes of the game. Would have been righteous for TT to loose to AZ but, it’s not meant to be. I will also note the the refs must have been missing from the game due to the government shutdown…
That’s life.
