I can’t go to the Idaho game. I have two NEZ tickets I can let you have.
This is not horrible news:
The word out there is that its chance of passing the House is extremely low unless provisions are put in like making athletes employees, which is also extremely unlikely. But… we shall see.
Thank you for the offer. Part of the reason it’s easy to make the decision to not even go is I have to sit in one of the handicap accessible seating areas. One of the seats that sits next to a wheelchair spot. It’s the only place I can have my legs not crammed up my nose and therefore not being agony the whole game.
At a minimum it has to be on an aisle. It’s one of your spots on an aisle?
Some insights from another source:
RB2 looking like it could be FR LaMarcus Bell 6-0 /200. 10.89 in the 100M, also excelled in wrestling. Nice combo.
FR LB Cyrus Polu 6-1 / 225 has “NFL talent”.
Its early, we’ll see how things pan out, but it’s the second time I’ve heard Polu’s name in chatter.
Ute speculation!!! Decent article by Brandon Judd:
Good fall camp preview here with Stevenson Sylvester. This discussion focuses on defense, and LBs in particular. But starting about the 34-minute mark he talks about how dynamic the offense looks to be, and how hard it will be for defenses to prepare. Some pretty good stuff.
I think more than any season in my lifetime, I have no clue what to expect from Utah football this year.
I expect them to win outright and beat Michigan, in the Natty
They have ZERO 5-star HS recruits on their roster. 3/4 stars.
Iowa St. is gutted with Campbell going to Penn St. They are going to be BAD. I think of the 1st four, the difficulty levels will be Ark, Utah St., Iowa St., Idaho St. If we aren’t 4-0, we have no business competing for the conference. Heck, our 1st 7 if we aren’t 7-0, maybe 6-1 with a drop against a rising Houston, we shouldn’t be top 2.
We have a schedule to go 11-1, but there are several games that easily could drop the team to 8-4 (Houston, BYU, TCU, WT% road game) unless injuries or the wheels fall off.
While I want us to win for some reason I’m feeling a lot like we are once again in the MWC and by god I don’t want to be in the MWC…or any conference that feels like a farm team league.
Can we just join the B10 already?
Is there a fanfest this year?
Not Utah related, but interesting tidbit I read on FB.
Despite what Hollywood and Ronnie Reagan would have you believe Notre Dame and Knute Rockne did not invent the forward pass. That game against Army in 1913 might have been when they started using it but it had first became legal in 1906. Bennie Owen’s 1912 Oklahoma team passed for nearly 200 yards a game. In 1906 when it was first instituted it was a high risk play. If you had an incomplete pass you lost possession so an incompletion was a turnover. In 1907 they changed that to a 15 yard penalty for an incompletion and the rule was that any play with an incomplete forward pass over road anything else that happened. So eventually defenses learned to just hold the receivers which was a penalty but the incompletion would override that. I think they revisited the passing rules again in 1910. One of the first teams to really make good use of the pass as a strategy was the Carlisle Indian School coached by Pop Warner. They played all the great powers of the age. I read a book years ago about their 1912 game with Army with Jim Thorpe playing for Carlisle and future president Dwight D. Eisenhower was an Army linebacker. In Pop Warner’s pregame speech he reminded his players that these Army players dad’s were the same Army that killed your dads and grandpas. Now that’s a motivational speech. Carlisle beat Army 27-6..
Hats off to Sharrieff!!!
No they aren’t. I took my dad to a game many years ago before he died and I contacted the ticket office and they swapped my tickets for handicap accessible tickets. I don’t know if they do this, but you might want to check.
Some good stuff here, worth a listen.
In the player interviews, a lot of talk about building muscle mass, etc.
This was a quiet but big offseason change:
Anyone know when season tickets will be available?
Mine is waiting for me to buy ESPN Unlimited for the season.
