Anyone familiar with the department and/or Out of State Merit Aid? If you want Message me. The kid is looking at Industrial Engineering schools to apply to and I wouldn’t mind her looking at UofU. She’s not super “cracked” as the kids say. She’s pretty decent SAT (quite a few points above the middle 50 at UofU) so I think it’s worth looking.
She learned she liked UofU people the few times we mingled at the Rose Bowl with y’all.
Edit: Also, y’all are generous with AP Credit. Marking down some that would be redundant courses it looks like 56 hours accepted?!?!
I Remember when this building went up. “The Garage” on the first floor enables students to build their dream project with access to tools, design etc.
Seems rather innovative. I’m sure other schools have such, but making you aware of a leading edge approach for venture planning
There are fewer and fewer merit scholarships awarded to out of state students these days. The trade off is a very generous residency program where students can gain resident status and much lower tuition after one year in Utah.
The College of Engineering has had an influx of cash in recent years and the facilities have had huge upgrades even in the 6 years since my son graduated as a Mechanical Engineer.
Mechanical Engineering is a very solid program and there is a lot of recruitment at the U from Aerospace, defense and other large employers. Job prospects continue to be very strong.
