This was on a layover in NYC at a Russian bar that I’m pretty sure was a laundering front for the Russian mafia. Guys kept coming in the back door and then entering a very well hidden door towards the back of the bar. We were the only patrons in the place. The bartender Sergei was kind enough to let us wear these hats that were on display behind the bar. He was experimenting with different drinks, and comped us one of his concoctions. It was the worst drink any of us had ever had ! Bourbon infused with duck fat.

I did once this board was down for awhile and it kinda reminded me of being a goalie in hockey: not really welcome and only fun if we win.

Absolute nails it. We’ve got a pretty good community here, there’s a little bit of give and take, but everyone here gets along well.
Most boards are less that and more about posturing, pronouncing, etc.
But I’m biased.
