Nothing wrong with Nico but yeah, the Jaxon Jackson Jaughkshauns are played out.
Lon Kruger almost came to Utah after Majerus left. What might have beenā¦
How did that not happen? Was this part of the Mark Few convinced us that Giacoletti was a great coach ploy?
IIRC Majerus quit in mid-season. At the time, the Utes were making an ultimately successful tournament run with Kerry Rupp as interim coach. The Utes didnāt want to cause team turmoil and fire Rupp to hire Krueger (or anyone else) in the middle of that season. The UNLV job opened up at around the same time, and Krueger took it. He didnāt want to wait until the end of the season for a chance at the Utah job.
Kruger went to UNLV for more money. He also claimed he didnāt want to be in a cold winter climate. Who knows whether or not to believe that?
Chris Hill didnāt hire Dana Altman because Altman wanted a 10 year contract and Hill wouldnāt go for it.

If so, that is too bad. Chris Hill told me that Rupp was never going to get the head coaching job at Utah. The period after Majerus left was kind of crazy, and I donāt believe people were doing their best thinking. So what you say is certainly plausible.
I am second to no one in my love for Big Rick. A signed pen and ink drawing of him hangs in my office. Still, I think the way he left the program was tragic and damaging.
