There is nothing quite like the smell of a Sunday dinner cooking in the oven

4:00 PM is going to be great.

Tri Tip Roast
Baby Carrots
Baby potatoes with beef gravy
Baked onion

All in one pot.

Mmmmm. Baby potatoes…

I cooked my first smoker meal. Baby back ribs, corn on the cob, Portobello mushrooms, wild asparagus, all in the new smoker. Everything turned out great.

Your stuff looks and sounds great Greg. Hope it tasted as good as it looks.

Doc says I need to pay closer attention to what I eat, so I’m working on it. Because of that I’m working on lower (saturated) fat, higher fiber. I’m taking a bit of inspiration from a book called “The Plant Based Cyclist.” It has a bunch of vegan items, I can’t go that far, but I can go semi vegetarian. I like animal based protein too much.

Here’s what I made this evening. Jasmine rice cooked in chicken stock, potato artichoke bisque, roasted cauliflower and carrots, blistered tomatoes, and chix breast with my smoking rub that sautes well.

Rather simple, the longest part was the roasting the veggies, but they tasted well. I think my favorite part was the rice.
