So @Ma-ake did me dirty by saying we offered WR Silas Bolden from Oregon State. After a 2 second google search I see he’s looking into Texas.
After what he did to our defense in Corvallis, I really hope(d) we find some money and give him the Darren Carrington honorary award for former opponents we welcome with open arms.
Silas is from California. Maybe Cam can give him feedback on what it’s like to live in Texas.
Good day for the receiving corp
Sounds like the Utes may be seriously in play for Dorian Singer from USC… between him and whatever happens with Bridges, we could end up with - dare I say it - a really solid receiving corps.
I hear there is a good chance of getting him. Even if we don’t, I’m no longer worried about our offense next season. We seem to have the horses to really compete, much to the chagrin of a lot of B12 fans. Who knows but Utah might actually find themselves in the thick of the conference championship conversation, granted we stay healthy.
Any conference is a grind, it’s never easy… but I’m not sure who else will be considered a serious contender. Okie State and Iowa State I guess? Arizona returns a lot on offense, but they have a serious rebuild ahead of them on D. Colorado is, well, Colorado.
These bits of news are good reminders that our coaches are smart guys who know how to deal with changing circumstances. As one of the top programs in the PAC-12 over the last 4-5 years I think we are going to do just fine in the portal.
@EUte,
I have followed K-State for years and they are usually very good
Yeah agreed - and outside of Okie St. (and setting aside the departing schools) they’ve probably had the most consistent program in that conf over the last decade or so.
Reid is coming back.
Yay, but I honestly didn’t realize there was a possibility he wouldn’t.
I didn’t, either.
Considering the landscape of CFB, I’ll celebrate every player coming back, and with somebody like Reid look forward to his leadership in building the ‘24 Utes.
I guess this is the new reality… starters/ contributors announce what they’re doing the next season either way.
I think it’s a good thing for team (and fan) morale.
I have enjoyed being a member of the UFN community.
With that being said, I will be returning next year and continue to be a contributing member. Go Utes!
i respect your decision.
Things are looking up… I was worried after the couple recent departures, and frankly there just aren’t that many great options coming from the other sites.
Our transfer portal here is very forgiving.
