The pet peeves thread

If I get in this situation I either pass or set the cruise control to 2+ lengths. If I’m gonna park behind you I’ll at least back up a little.

What is up with people who drive BMWs? Consistently drive like a-holes.

Do they have New Jersey plates too? The NJ plates have been a pretty good give away here for me.

What is the difference between a porcupine and a BMW…

With the BMW, the prick is on the inside.

What does BMW stand for…

Break My Window and steal my car stereo.

I was way overdue for an oil change and had a meeting-free morning, so I figured 9:30 on a Tuesday morning would be a good time to take the car in. Everyone else is at work, right?

Tried 4 oil change locations near me, and the shortest wait was 2 hours. One of them said it’d be at least 4 hours before they could get to it.

Is Tuesday morning the designated oil change time and I just missed the memo?

On Tuesday you get your oil changed and then go for tacos. Try to keep up.

If they are places that also do inspections/emissions/renewals then the problem wasn’t Tuesday morning, the problem was going on the 29th of the month.

Ah, I hadn’t considered that.

I’m not so sure. I had an appointment for an oil change at a dealer and was still there for 90 minutes. I let them know in response to the “how did we do?” email that was ridiculous.

We bought Mrs SkinyUte a new used car back in May. It came with “lifetime oil changes!” as one of the selling point bonuses. Scheduled our first one a couple weeks ago.

Had a 7am appointment at the dealership. She sat for just under 3 hours while they did the oil change. Then they came out and told her it needed a full coolant flush, which they could do for $270. She told them no, and they said that if we’re not doing the flush, then it desperately needed a coolant “top off”, which they would do for $70 (Jiffy Lube does it for $10). She was so frustrated at that point that she told them yes just to get the hell out of there.

I’m sure their system is set up to make those “free” oil changes as frustrating as possible so people don’t actually use that service, and to upsell anything and everything to recoup their costs. The problem for them is that it also soured me on the entire dealership as a whole. There’s not a chance I will ever take my car back in to them for service again. For anything. And while we had a really good experience in buying the car, that service experience will make me think twice about buying from them ever again as well.

Dealership is Tim Dahle Nissan Southtowne, btw.

Sorry to hear. Weve had nothing but good service, professionalism and advocacy with Ken Garff Honda.

I don’t know what it is, but driver quality plummets after rush hour.

After about 9:30a, it’s like innumerable sketchy drivers are thinking “Is it safe for me to come out now? Did those meanies who honk get to where they were going?

Yesterday I saw not one, but two cars blow through different red lights.

Not running red lights, not flooring it when it turns yellow… I’m talking other cars are stopped at the red light and the invincible(s) blow right on through, one time about 3 seconds before the light turned green.

We need Nerf cars.

My commute is walking my ■■■ out of my back door to the shed. I have a project I need to get completed before I begin the Halloween tombstone mass production.

One thing is for sure, one of the tombstones will be for the PAC 12.

No lagging in the passing lane on your commute. Hehe.

Here where I live the issue is mostly having the technicians available considering labor shortages. I had the car in for other stuff, and before I left I had them do a state inspection/emission. That took an additional 4 hours because they are short technicians. The repair I had done took 14 days because of that shortage as well.

Took two weeks (and the bulk of s day) to get a recall repair. They had to order the part to fix my car.

“Hurry up and Wait” seems to be here to stay. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:
