Has anyone personally experienced Shazam correctly identify a single tune, from any genre, any timeframe? And if so, what was it?
This does not answer your question in that I don’t use Shazam. I use SoundHound and it often correctly identifies songs.
Odd. I use Shazam quite a bit and it’s usually spot on.

My mother-in-law worked at Castletons in the late 70’s
I remember as a little kid going to Auerbach’s downtown with my mom.
There was a hunched over old guy who was the elevator operator. You’d get in and he’d grumble “what floor?” I knew right away I didn’t want to become an elevator operator.
I might’ve known her. I was there in about 1978.
