The official "What are you listening to right now?" thread

She is obviously VERY familiar with the original guitar lines of Sam Andrew and James Gurley, as well as Janis Joplin’s vocals on their 1968 version.

And the backup singers are outstanding.

Speaking of the Grateful Dead, a couple years ago I saw a guy with this embroidered logo on his jacket while sitting in Alta’s Albion Grill. I sent some money and my denim shirt to his residence in North Carolina. The message fits me like a glove.

I wonder if it’s the guy who made similar Alta Stickers.
I saw and bought this shirt over 10 years ago.

Jumping from the “Non Utah Football” Thread , here’s another funky 10/8 time song that almost everybody loves:

Regarding different time signatures, here is Peter Gabriel with Solsbury Hill in 7/4 time.

This little gem is a particularly well known tune in 7/8. Also one of the best crowd control banter ever.
The song really hits the ground running after the “take a step back” intro:

Not as “odd” a time signature as some of the others mentioned here, but I’ve always loved the feel of 6/8. The Allman Brothers did a great tune in 6/8, and here’s one of my favorite childhood TV theme songs in 6/8:

While we’re on the subject of the Allman Brothers, was there ever a better bit of electric slide guitar than Duane Allman on Statesboro Blues?

Great song. Great Album too. Allways loved this song (dont know the time)
I also realize the recording does not match the video

Excellent. Derek Trucks is the nephew of Butch Trucks of Allman Bros fame. His guitar sounds an awful lot like the Allman Brothers Band.

New album from Knife is like 80’s Venom somehow got teleported into 2023. Just some really fun old-school thrash metal.

Also really enjoying the new one from Shylmagoghnar. They’re a one man black/death/folk/melodeath/atmospheric metal project that has a really breathtaking scope and epic sound. An unexpected addition to the year-end list, but likely to end up in my top 10.

Love the Beastie Boys. Loved watching Letterman. Somehow I wasn’t aware this happened until just recently. What a great entrance.

Great song Steggys. Incidentally, it might be the worst song on the album. That album is killer.

Sharing this as there is a country/soul/blues show going on that I will be attending this weekend. A friend of mine talked about as I had never heard of this group before, but apparently they are pretty good.
