The Hyundai Exo--a hydrogen fuel cell car

Interesting concept. Didn’t some engineering students do something like that for a contest, like Race Across America but with solar?

More like the electric companies. The process is straight forward. It’s often done in HS chemistry labs. It just takes a lot of electrical power so, guess what?, we need to increase our electricity production via clean means (solar) and improve the grid. The latter is essential for us to live forward in multiple fronts.

The discussion here reminds me that there is no such thing as “clean” energy, only “cleaner” energy.

It’s clean in the sense of particulates and CO2 emissions, but it will always, and I mean ALWAYS, take more energy to get H2 for use in fuel cells than you will get back from its use. That’s just the laws of thermodynamics on full display.

Actually the people who started Lightyear won the contest in the Outback a few years back.

That may be what I remembered, vaguely at least.
