This would be a sure fire way to make sure I never root for the Panthers. At the same time, imagine Prime’s meltdown if his precious boy ended up on the Panthers.
If truth be told I see Prime not allowing Shadeur to go to the Panthers, like a hold out for some BS like Eli Manning did to get to the Giants. If Shadeur were a baseball player maybe use that as leverage to go anywhere else but the train wreck that is the Panthers organization. (Here I thought Jerry was delusional, nah Tepper may have him beat.)
…Lest we forget Elway holding out to get traded from the Colts to the Broncos.
Carolina is a dumpster fire and has been since Jerry Richardson left the building. I wouldn’t want my kid playing there. Why they would want Deion’s kid is a head scratcher. Kid can play, but the Panthers need an O line like no other right now.
You know the organization sucks when you bench the QB and start getting trade offers for him.
Wait… is that why I get weird looks at the rec center wearing my Big Baller gear… or is is the Tie-Dye PAC-12 shirt? Dammit… I paid good money for this gear.
Maybe next year I need to make my own gear, like a t-shirt:
“The worst formal interview I’ve ever been in in my life. He’s so entitled. He takes unnecessary sacks. He never plays on time. He has horrible body language. He blames teammates… But the biggest thing is, he’s not that good,”
Last paragraph of the story attributed to an NFL assistant coach. I believe this is true. We’ve all seen and read about it. He and his dad have not done themselves any favors. While talented, Shedeur was born on third base and thinks he hit a triple. That won’t play well in a professional organization where Daddy isn’t in charge.
Wherever he gets drafted will be a massive wake-up call that he needs to rebuild his entire outlook, start from scratch, maybe he’ll be a decent backup in a few years.
Look at how many QBs in the league have reinvented their careers through deep self reflection and sacrifice. Geno Smith, Jameis Winston, Flacco… the list is very long, and none of them had a Rolls Royce in college.
Maybe Shadeur and Zach Wilson could help each other.
I’m kind of like this but I hope his getting away from Dad allows him to be his own man. I think Deion has def helped him as well as hurt him in life. Double edged sword.
Shedeur should’ve slid all the way out of the draft, given many of the comments cited in articles I read in the Athletic. He interviewed like garbage. He showed up but didn’t perform at all at the combine. His school’s Pro Day was a made for TV reality show, and add to it he has never been coached by anyone other than “Daddy.”
Fans suing the NFL because it didn’t want to foster another draft bust, only this time it would be one carrying its own megaphone and an entourage, is ridiculous and completely laughable.
