Season ticket renewals...WTF?

Got the e-mail for the season ticket renewal yesterday. Was quite excited when the email made a VERY big deal that “most seat prices will remain flat for this year”.

I then logged in to see that not only did our seats go up 10%, but that the required “Crimson Club Fee” also went up another 6%. So all told, the “flat or no increase” they claimed actually ended up being about a 13% jump. I was planning to sell these tix anyways, but now I’m just hoping the guy buying them doesn’t back out

The whole thing leaves a very bad taste, tbh. If you’re going to do a 13% increase, then just do a 13% increase. Don’t make a big deal about them being flat or cheaper…and then just go ahead and raise them anyways.

Last year:

This year:

EDIT: I just now remembered that we have a 7th home game this year, which actually does explain the increase somewhat.

Yeah, if you keep the ‘per game’ cost the same going from 6 to 7 games, it should be a 16.6% increase. Then next year the AD can say they kept your total the same, but we drop from 7 to 6 games and we continue the cycle

Exactly. They’ve been playing that game so long now I can’t even remember when they started doing it. Basically they’ll figure out a way to jack the price up 13% to 17% every year but sell it as no change.

Just did the math and our actual ticket price is only 35% of the total renewal cost. The bulk is CC obligation. That was easier to swallow when it was considered a donation.

I think mine are $6 per game more so not quite flat and definitely not cheaper.

There was a breakdown on one of the media outlets.

They basically went from 22 zones to 40 something zones.

Some zones went down a bit, others went up a bit. Averaging it all they claim it’s “flat”

It’s the world we live in

The only tickets we have left are gymnastics, and I’m certain when they redo the huntsman we’ll lose the 2nd row seats we’ve had for 2+ decades
