Sad news: Arnie Ferrin passed away this morning

He was 97. That’s a pretty good life.

Just finished reading the article. You beat me to the share.

We’ve lost a legend. We were lucky to have him as long as we did. I got to know him when I was a student member of the Athletic Board back when he was the A.D. Amazingly, he never forgot me. We corresponded and generally stayed in touch, and when I would see him at games or gatherings, even in his 90s, he was a wonderful, friendly person who remembered details about me. A really remarkable man. Rest in peace, Arnie.

Arnie was a really nice guy. I had the chance to chat with him several times during Ute games, he was always open and friendly. My wife once asked him for an autograph, and he asked for our address. Several days later we got an autographed photo from him in the mail. Great person!
