Roster by Number

I noted that some, including me, were annoyed last week when it was a little hard to know who all the players were with the jerseys the team selected and the unavailability of team rosters in numerical order. I mean, really, who thought it was a good idea to only have them alphabetically on the official website? So, as a public service, here is the 2020 roster in numerical order as a handy reference during the game.

Go Utes!

This is awesome. For future reference, if you click the title of the column it will rearrange. So you order by name, number, position, etc.

I don’t remember a year where we had anything close to this many duplicate numbers.

Don’t know if the announcers have their own spotters helping out at home, or if they’re just good, but we haven’t had any Marcroft-esque flubs like:

And now Jake Bentley is lined up on the defense, looks like he’s going to cover a wide receiver. I don’t remember coach saying anything about this. South Carolina is certainly known to produce a lot of athletes, maybe Jake is trying to get some extra reps to get into better shape.

The official website is dumb, if you change the view to list you can sort numerically. Figured that out during the SC game.

I spotted for Bill once at SDSU, the game where Mac panicked and put Alex Smith in the game eliminating his redshirt. Spotting was hard. The funny thing is when Alex went in, Bill shutoff his mike and let go with a stream of colorful criticism of Mac for blowing the redshirt year. If I remember correctly, Alex threw picks on his first two pass attempts and was then replaced. That was a crazy trip, Gary Andersen and Don Eck (the OL coach) got into it on the plane and had to be pulled a part by the players.

He only threw one pick (returned for a TD) but was also sacked. I think he threw for 1 yard. Who would’ve known at that time what he would have turned out to be?

Yes, more stories, please.

I love the reverse-Trump the SDSU player pulls in the interview at the end…we’re not 1-5, we are 1-0, we start counting now.
