Very sad news if you’re a guitarist. This has been a great shop for a long time. About two years ago they did a full fret replacement on my ‘76 Les Paul and it plays like a dream now. Best setups in the business.
As a regular there for decades, I was very sorry to hear about this. I received the email below a few days ago.
When I was growing up in the 60s and 70s, there were music stores everywhere. I used to teach guitar lessons as some of them when I was in High School. There are very few left and the small locally owned stores are the most at risk.
Its no different though, than any other type of retail, the old days of local, family owned, Mom and Pop retail stores are almost gone.
I try to remember to purchase as much as possible from those that exist, even just buying all your guitar strings and picks, etc., from a local store rather the ordering on Amazon (yuck!) helps.
email:
After 32 years Guitar Czar will be permanently closing. Due to tariffs, a slowing economy, and more customers shopping online, we are unable to keep the store open.
We have loved serving the music community and being a part of so many people’s musical journey and artistic discovery. Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years. If you would like to continue to support us in the last weeks of the store, please stop in and buy the remaining gear that will be heavily discounted. Everything must go.
Please support you other favorite local stores.
I agree. We have an outdoor spa (hot- tub) and I buy all my supplies from the local brick supply store. I imagine I can save money online, and yet, it’s pennies on the dollar. These people are paying employees, state, federal taxes and contributing greatly to our community.
I might just go there and pick up an acoustic. I’ve been thinking about getting a better one for years.
Video looked like inventory is low. I’ve been thinking about changing my Ovation Celebrity Elite out because even though the sound is great the neck and body are too thick for me. I need something slimmer.
