Can’t forget “Tender Mercies,” the role that was probably most out of his wheelhouse.
He also appeared on The Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, Alfred Hitchcock Presents and The Time Tunnel, among other classics. He paid his dues.

He also played Frank Burns in the movie MASH, which is weird. A totally different take on the character compared to Larry Linville on the TV show.

I just read this elsewhere. I didn’t realize that he was 95. He always seemed ageless to me I guess.

Here’s an interesting fact somewhat related to Robert Duvall. When I was a kid, I always thought that he was related to Shelley Duvall, it just seemed obvious. But they are not related. The interesting part is that Shelley’s father is, in fact, named Robert, who went by “Bobby”. And, to make it even more interesting, her mother’s name was Bobbie. Oddly enough, she was “discovered” in Hollywood by another Robert, Robert Altman, who directed Robert Duvall in MASH.

Jesse Jackson’s speech at the 1984 Dem Convention was iconic, speaking for those left behind. Real gravity. Jackson gave voice to so many who felt invisible.

More humorously, a Letterman Top 10 for George H.W. Bush’s dream going into his campaign in '88: “Jesse Jackson will lose his ability to rhyme

Wasn’t Moe the one that told Majerus to use the triangle against Arizona?

That was George Karl.

I stand corrected. I always mixed those two up.

I think Majerus’ triangle and 2 in the 1998 Elite 8 against Arizona is the single-best tactical move in the history of Utah sports. A close second would be Utah’s up-tempo, no-huddle offense in the first quarter against Alabama in the 2009 Sugar Bowl.

The triangle and 2 worked brilliantly. Arizona was a high-scoring team that averaged over 90 points a game. They had four (four!) guards who would eventually spend time in the NBA: Miles Simon, Mike Bibby, Michael Dickerson, and Jason Terry. Simon, Bibby, and Dickerson spent that whole game bricking shots from everywhere. Only Terry played decently. Without looking up stats, I want to say Arizona was something like 4 of 25 from three-point range. It seems like Simon, Bibby, and Dickerson were 8 of 300 from the floor. It was crazy. That was the best 40 minutes of basketball Utah has ever played. And it spilled over into the first 30 minutes of the Final Four game against UNC (Utah kind of wore down in that one but held on to win by 6). Great memories.

Edit: to stay on topic, I will say this: thanks George Karl for planting the idea in Majerus’ head, and thanks for learning something from Doug Moe, who just passed away.
