Major talent! multi instrumentalist. Fantastic visionary. He had challenges with the usual suspects and unlike Bowie and Kief, couldnāt rally the talent and spirits from within once he rode the dragons tail.
He was also a producer. Bands such as The Beau Brummels, The Mojo Men, Bobby Freeman, and Grace Slickās first band, The Great Society.
Hereās something funny about Loretta Swit. From 1983 to 1995 she was married to a guy named Dennis Holahan, the last name being an alternate spelling of āHoulihanā.
I also read somewhere that they met on the Mash set, where he was a guest star in one episode.

American Democracy as we have known it !
RIP
That happened months ago, did you just find out?
It was kind of on life support, but this thuggery and blatant abuse of authority has pushed it over the cliff !
Back when journalism was respected and some blowhard didnāt scream āfake newsā when he didnāt like it.
Lalo Schifrin also passed away today. His jazzy soundtracks were always super catchy, especially Mission: Impossible. I think my personal favorite was Bullitt.

This is a HUGE loss. Bill Moyers was among the very best.
Edit to say: I recall many years later in his career, where I waited eagerly to enjoy any of the several PBS programs he did, particularly his Friday evening Joseph Campbell series.
Lalo penned, one of my favorite TV theme songs of all time, āMannixā.
As a young kid I remember the show only vaguely (donāt think I watched much past the intro music), but I remember the theme song, the instrumentation, and most importantly, the 6/8 time signature. Classic stuff, from the days when TV Producers hired the very best to create their intro music.
He also did the entire score for one of my favorite movies of all time, āCool Hand Lukeā. No single tune comes to mind this late in the evening, but this is certainly representative:
Iām not sure how I feel about Mr āI Have Sinned!ā passing away. Good Riddance?
If he is going to heaven, I will enjoy my time in hell with my friends and former GIās who served.
Iāll offering the most insincere thoughts and prayers I can muster, just as he would have done.
Iāve never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure ,
