Power ratings still have Utah top 10

This is not an eye test but a formula:

ESPN’s power ranking guy also put out computer predictions for this week:

More rankings for power to the Utes:

I expect it to be close, much closer than the final to the fUCLA game.

Here is what the model of Austin Mock at The Athletic says about the game…

USC at Utah under 65 (-110)

This one makes me a little nervous, if I’m being honest. Both teams can score, there is no doubt there. And my model thinks both defenses aren’t as good as you might think. Recipe for an over? I guess not. My model thinks this number is too high and considering USC’s offensive performance against Oregon State on the road earlier this year, maybe it found something there. Either way, this game should be absolutely fantastic and while I think both offenses are very good, 65 is still a lot of points for two offenses which have struggled at times this year. My model makes this closer to 60.

Worst line to bet: Under 63 (-110)

Model projection: Utah 32.0, USC 28.0

So expect 13-7 Utes because they are still kids. Lol

Interesting what he said about how Williams does against zone coverage and how Utah almost never plays zone.

There was a USC v Utah game a few years ago in LA where Utah came in favored but USC just kept throwing to a talented wide receiver in solo coverage and Utah lost.

I hope that doesn’t happen again.
