Just for heck of it, while looking for something for lunch (they have about a dozen places close here in Silicone Slopes) decided to try (for the first time) the famous elusive Popeyes chicken sandwich. They were out of them of course.

Popeye’s blackened chicken tenders with sweet heat sauce are fantastic
Every time I’ve been to Popeye’s which is half a dozen or so, the meat flavor is ok but the texture is freaking rubber.

My exact experience! Chewy, rubbery chicken every time. The coating is great but the chicken itself is terrible.
If you can pass up on the Deep Fried chicken and want some tasty bird try
Mr. Charlies Chicken Fingers at 554 W 4500 S. Good chicken, breaded or not, dipping sauces of choice, Slaw, Fries and Toast and at decent price.
