Neighbor poisened another neighbors cat

Not sure why but the police said nothing to be done. I find this to be so disturbing.
It was a super friendly cat everyone loved it. I guess the neighbor that killed the cat is always strapped too.
Neighbor came home and cat was foaming at the mouth and died at the Vet. The Vet said it was absolutely intentional, not sure what poison WTF!

That really makes me mad. We had something similar several years ago. One of our cats, also super friendly that people loved, was shot by a pellet gun. And it happened twice!

Yeah this guy has aparently shot two cats with a BB gun too! They lived but, why can’t the cops nail him? Isnt it a felony to kill a stray animal?

When I was little some a-hole poisoned our 1 yr old German shepherd by feeding it ground glass in hamburger. I hope he’s burning in hell.

Talk to someone else - my experience when police say nothing can be done, it just means they don’t want to do something. Years ago, as I was getting home late, I pulled in, and my car lights flashed on a guy crouched beneath my daughter’s window. I stopped and kept my lights on him; he got up and tried to run away, stumbling because he was drunk or high. I called the police, and the cop who showed up said there was nothing that could be done. Nope, nothing on trespassing, nothing on the fact he was heavily intoxicated and stumbling down the street before his very eyes, nothing about being underneath the window of a young girl. That was until another cop showed up who felt very differently - then cop A suddenly decided that things could be done. But I did enjoy his sanctimonious lecture before the other cop showed up that it wasn’t trespassing unless he saw it.

Animal cruelty is a thing, and pretty explicit. Utah code § 76-13-204 to be exact. Depending on where you live, the city may have additional penalties. For example, in SLC, WVC, and Salt Lake County, leaving out poisoned or treated substances that are accessible to animals except for LICENSED vermin control is prohibited. So, if you can find that he did this, it would be pretty easy to nail him with some steep fines at a minimum and possibly jail time.

Property destruction and other things may be an issue. So if you can find some of the poisoned food, it would be a pretty easy way to get the guy.

People doing stuff like this probably have some other serious issues going on too.

Edit to add: call the Humane Society, they can help you navigate it.

Wow! Thanks @RockerUte. That’s very helpful and worth looking into indeed.
Also while vigilantism is a terrible thing, it must have taken enormous discipline not to exact discipline on a stalker. You’re a big dude! You’re heart and brain are proportional.

It’s both extremely depressing and infuriating to see cruelty to animals.
