Metallica will play RES June 19, 2027.
Concert will be in the round.
Saw Metallica at Park West back in 1994 and they were incredible. Pretty sure my ears are still ringing from that show. And I’m still disappointed Alice in Chains had to cancel their opener slot because Layne went back into rehab a couple days before. That suuuuuucked.
Saw them again in 2008 at the Delta Center (? I think). It was an “in the round” show as well and they were absolutely terrible. Like, just shockingly bad. I think we just happened to catch a off night, but it was a spectacularly awful show. James’ voice was terrible, Kurt couldn’t keep up on any of the guitar solos, and the sound mix was so muddy you could barely even make out what song they were playing. We got free tickets to that show, and I still wanted my money back. 
I might give them another go if a) tickets weren’t a bazillion dollars (which I’m sure they will be) and b) I liked a single song they’ve put out since 1988.

I’m seeing them at the Sphere in 5 weeks.
I got those tickets for $150 a seat, that’s with fees included.
