I don’t have a hubby…and quite often that’s a good thing. I need your manly inputon something that is likely an impulse purchase. Do I paint what I have or buy new?

what is it?
Yes
If it’s a house, paint it. If it’s a car, buy a new one.
…It depends…![]()
Yeah. Here’s one that sometimes get me in trouble, and it has already been said, “it depends.”
Although, yes works well too.
Sorry, but all I can think of on this topic is adopting this stance will keep me out of a lot of trouble.
Truly a great song, well played by the boys. I didn’t know you had a predilection
Here’s an original which I think makes a finer point
Addendum: This is the very song which piqued John’s curiosity that lead to fascination and eventual ascension to play with them.
I love Althea. The version I listen to mostly is from “Live at Nassau.” Many good D&C versions out there, too, on YT. I also think it’s Al Franken’s favorite.
As a guitarist what I think really makes this work is Bobby’s slide underneath that walking lead. The man just was a master at subtle embellishment. I’m a horrid slide guy, but can pull off the Jerry parts at a level where nobody would probably throw anything at me.
That’s one of the most perfectly placed understatements to make a statement, ever.
I’m listening to that show now. And I honestly might have been there, because it was a 3 night venue. I think: I got in on Saturday night, but I was also there for the other two nights as well.
@HoopUte. I thought I was the only dedicated fan on this board!
I agree with everything you said wholeheartedly. I think Bobby was a incredibly underrated rhythm guitar player, (basically, a lot of people ignore the rhythm player…) and I think he did an amazing job of finessing his way with asymmetric but highly harmonic and melodotic fills (Schwinggg) complinenting Phil’s up front/avant garde base playing and Jerry’s extended jams with modal changes
I’m a late to the dancing bear party Deadhead. I was a casual fan for a long time. I really liked In the Dark and thought Throwing Stones might be their best song, period, while, “Hell in a Bucket,” was my favorite because it’s really funny.
In 2023, when D&C was touring for the last time they had three days in Boulder. I got tix for the 2nd night. That night I finally got the whole thing. My only regret is that we didn’t go for all three nights. Without question the biggest and best musical event experience I ever had.
Now I’ve inflicted I Know You Rider, Bertha, and Ripple on my band. They were novices, but now really like those songs, especially Ripple that we generally close our gigs with.
We were there! Dancing and listening in different places
And since we’re continuing a thread about decisions between men and women, here’s what I think is the most beautiful and subtle ballads of this particular period
Check out the synbiotic/synchronisity at 3:14 bridge
I rather like the gray/green color palette. I guess allot depends on the room.
You still read books?
