They have a coach with a losing bowl and CFP record. Hiring Lincoln Riley is like hiring the son of a famous and successful coach. The man got the keys to one of the best teams ever and was very mediocre.

Man do I miss being in conference with USC. Every game was big and every game was winnable.
Somehow they attract the most talented prima donnas in the country and always have a feel of being a bit soft- fast, but beatable.
No one does less with more than USC.

U$C makes a lot of money, but they spend a lot more money than they make, too. 
Something tells me Lincoln Riley’s is on a countdown clock to fired.
Anyway, being the HC of the Trojans always ends in a football version of Bobby Bonilla Day.

He’s basically a Lori Loughlin-style hiring. It’s always funny to me guys like Deion and Eddie George have to go coach HBCU and in Eddie’s case then a MAC school before they get their shot. A mediocre college QB gets the keys to the kingdom at a blue blood and runs it into the ground and fails upward to SC. Then runs it into the ground. That said, Lane did the same thing and apparently it wasn’t him as the problem. He’s won everywhere else.

To continue the thought on Kiffin. He’s turned out to be a pretty damned good coach. Yeah, he’s obnoxious at times, but he gets his players ready and they execute.

Kiffin was pretty young at USC. Coaches are not finished products at 35. He has learned a lot since then and is probably a much better coach now.

Although it’s fun to speculate, Lincoln Riley is not on any countdown clock to be fired. A 60-70 million buyout is just too much even with B1G money.
