The Dilfer firing is a big meh, that’s been expected for awhile.
James Franklin getting fired surprises me a little. I thought that PSU would wait until the end of the season, if at all this year.
I know Franklin doesn’t have a great record against ranked teams, except us at the Rose Bowl, and has had a rough last 7 games going back to the CFP last year. Guess there was something brewing in Paterno-town to get him fired.

When the expectation is “National Championship or Bust” it leaves a fall similar to falling from the top of Everest to deal with.
I get crazy, stupid amounts of money are involved here, and that is exactly the problem. It used to be the boosters influenced things, now they own them…lock, stock, and barrel. It wasn’t all that long ago the coaching carousel didn’t start twirling until season’s end. I blame U$C for starting this debacle by firing Kiffin in the airport lounge. What is crazier now is seeing G5 teams like UAB doing it too.
It’s not like it is going to cost them more to keep these guys around. This isn’t the NFL. Wait until the season is over, then fire them.
Hell, I’ll call it now - if Texas Tech doesn’t win the CFP, they will fire their coach. Yes, I believe it has gotten just this crazy.
