Interesting discussion going on w/in cycling right now

This harkens back to an ongoing discussion that we’ve had on nutrition and self-image, among other things.

The article on VeloNews talks about increasing a riders mass to help increase their power to weight ratio (w/kg). I’m not sure where I stand, but I do agree that food is fuel. So being overly restrictive to food type is problematic in the long run.

Without reading the article yet, I will say as an elder mid-sized grappler, I don’t mind being 10-15 pounds heavier than my climbing/triathlon days. Mostly cause I feel it helps me create pressure and force on mutual players who are also trying to kill me.
