I didn’t really ever like Ludwig, but we did have some good seasons and games under him. That said…

I’ve never been a big Ludwig fan. Years ago I was a heavy critic and frequently joined in the cheers of firing him. There was always just something about him that rubbed me wrong.

Our team did have some good seasons, some good games, and some good times with AL calling the offense… but we also had some pretty tough losses as well. We rocked against bama, but kind of lacked something in the Rose Bowl games.

It may not be popular to say this, but was AL calling plays what made us good, or was it the players making the calls work, kind of like did Phil Jackson make Jordan a great player? Or did Jordan make Jackson a great coach?

I only ask this because of the TCU game. The announcers said a few times what I have thought myself in the past several times… And what did they say? The announcers said that TCU knew what UTAH was going to do offensively. And to me, that’s not a player problem, that’s a coaching problem.

But I sincerely want to thank AL for some great games and some great experiences, and wish nothing but the best for the guy.
