The Jazz have hired Austin Ainge as President of Basketball Operations. I mean, seriously, isn’t there enough stench of byu-p on that team already? If there was further reason not to be a fan, this is it. I’m glad I’ve been phasing out my Jazz fandom over the past several years, this is definitely intolerable. And to think, at one time many years in the past my Utefans username was “thejazzkickazz”. lol
Well now it would have to be “thejazzareazz.”

The royalty treatment isn’t just a euphemism.
Austin Ainge declares no more tanking for Utah Jazz – Deseret News
Austin: "Father… I cannot thank you enough. You are the light that makes Utah so grand. But I must take this torch, we cannot light any more forest fires."
Danny: “I’m so proud of you, son. You may have the torch. Ryan? Ryan? My funding will continue, yea, like unto the passing of the sun every day?”
Barf.
Until proven otherwise, Austin’s word felt like fluff to me. Similar to a couple of years ago where the mantra was “big game hunting” and they landed John Collins.
Sarah Todd of the Deseret News had an article this morning where she had heard from multiple sources inside the organization that the team intends to try to win this year and if they happen to lose their 2026 pick (top 8 protected) so be it. I cant believe they said that with a straight face. In fact, Id bet Ryan wants to tank even harder this year to again buy another ticket to the dybansta Lottery.
I really think the offseason is going to feature a sell off of any and all veterans. Clarkson, Collins(assuming he opts in), Sexton, Markannen, im sure will all be on the block to move.
The only thing the Jazz have a chance of winning in 2026 is the lottery, and they can’t even properly do that!
