I worked for a Miller owned company for a bit before Larry died. Larry was great. Greg was the exact opposite. I’ll leave it at that.
It sounds like you have a lot more inside info than I have but some byu booster has very deep pockets for NIL. I think Smith is more than likely the one writing the checks. Before NIL, none of those top recruits were ever going to byu. Smith did meet with the #1 recruit in the country, who is supposedly leaning towards going to byu.
If it’s not Smith, I wonder who is funding it all.
Utah v EWU isn’t a bad game. They’re a much better test than last Tuesday. Up 58-50 at the 12 min to go TO. In the first half it was pretty chippy. Almost looked like a brawl would break out.
Meanwhile at the Hunty, Utah has coughed up what was a 16 point lead with 10 to play and now leads by 4 with 3:43 left. Ugh.
Utes win 88-80. This is a decent team. They deserve some butts in the seats next Saturday against St. Mary’s.
Scrappy effort by the visiting Eagles who didn’t give up. Really a night where shots didn’t fall for us.
I noted to my seatmates at the 4 minute time out that despite us letting a weaker team give us more of a battle than they should, the last minutes of tight games where you either rise to the occasion and pull out the win or fade away and lose are big difference makers. Utah came out on top.
Should be a much bigger challenge facing St. Mary’s this weekend.
