Sucks to give up an 11-point halftime lead, but this was a better performance overall than I expected.
Sorry gang, that’s on me. I switched over from NFL to the Utah game about midway through the second half, and things went to crap right after I started watching.
I’ll be more careful next time.
They’re a new collective, trying to get to know each other. These kinds of things happen on the road. You are officially absolved.
Kessler? I think you’ve been watching the Jazz too much. But that would be awesome if he had a “graduate” year of eligibility left.
He was 1-10 from 3-point land. That probably decided the game.
A respectable showing facing an opponent in what was essentially a road game (perception is that they will face us in the Delta Center next year.) Miss St. went to the Dance last couple of years.
Looked outmatched athletically and as is often the case in the situation had foul trouble with several Utes fouling out down the stretch. Hurt to not have our bigs and I’m really hoping Lovering returns soon and that we can at some point see what Keller can do.
Gabe had a frigid shooting night but some of that was due to the Bulldogs focusing their defensive effort on him denying good looks. Mason hit a lot of shots and really starting to enjoy watching Dawes and Little as well as son of a globetrotter Mongolian Mike.
Need a few more stronger opponents like this in pre-season as games like this develop and teach our team more than whipping weaker teams.
My son and I got the conference package for this season so we will be there to add a couple of bodies. I should probably try and make it to some non conference games as well I guess.
Dawes: 13 points (6-8) 12 rebounds in 25 minutes off the bench, on the road against an SEC school. Promising.
Right you are. If he hits even 3-10, Utah wins.
Or, pass the ball to his brother to shoot the ball as Mason was on for the night.
That too. The thing about Gabe is I have seen him go 1-8, 1-9 whatever and then make five in a row.
I got season tix, as well. It’s not like when games were only sometimes on TV and there was nothing else to do in the dark long evenings.
The Jazz, Ryan Smith and Danny Ainge are dead to me, so I’ll be catching some Ute games, in person.
MSU won on the free throw line, 24-8.
So Utah plays Utah Tech today at 3:30? That’s an odd time for a weekday.
Burned too much vacation lately and will have to miss and catch on ESPN+ Part of a double header with lady Utes (been a few of them) so they let the men go first this time.
Agree, except I think they figured the WBB game today may draw more butts to the seats so they switched normal starting times around. But I get to take my 9 year old grandson with me this afternoon so in this case I’m good with it.
WBB definitely has a tougher game tonight with St Joseph, which is 4-0 and has beaten Syracuse and Southern Utah.
Are high school football playoffs over? (Wondering on behalf of those who like to park at Stadium or VA lot and take Trax/shuttle)
Yes. They ended last night.
Not much of a competitive game, but the team continues to be efficient, 24 assists and 32 makes.
- Miro didnt score a lot, but had 11 boards and 8 assists, nice floor game
- The Madsens were solid, both in double figures
- Keanu Dawes continues to develop, a starter level player off the bench, feasted on Utah Tech at the rim, nice outside game
- Wahlin seems poised for a breakout into solid contributor status. We need it.
