I am not a fan of either of the “Home Alone” movies, but this John Williams song from the second one really is beautiful.
I accept the title of Grinch so far as those movies are concerned. MacCaulay Culkin could not act to save his life, and most of the first movie was about an unlikable kid being incredibly mean to a pair of hapless burglars. I think the second movie–the one with “Somewhere in My Memory” in the soundtrack–seemed better but I hardly watched it because watching MacCaulay act was like listening to fingernails screeching on a chalkboard.

And one more rendition, a very beautiful one, by the Twilite Orchestra, Jakarta, Indonesia, 2016. There’s something special about seeing audience members who are obvsiously quite diverse enjoying music expressing universal feelings about family, love and memories.
