The donut suggestion reminded me of a road trip to Oregon State with a young guy who was doing some reporting for one of the commercial web sites.
“We have to go to Voodoo Donuts in Portland!”
Intrigued by their selection, he told me the basic business model: they would sit around and get baked and think of new kinds of donuts, then make them and see what sells.

Voodoo Donuts are some of the worst donuts on the planet. They are especially bad when you wait in line for 45 minutes to get one. Seriously, go to Macey’s bakery and you will get a better donut at 1/3 of the price and no waiting (and no, I don’t think Macey’s has good donuts).

Amen. Runs about $30 a dozen. Banbury about $14 a dozen. Sooooo overrated.
