Halloween Playlist

What songs should be included on a playlist for a Halloween party? Therre are some obvious ones, and I think there are some less obvious. I’m not as familiar with really dark bands like Type O Negative, or even Black Sabbath/Ozzy.

Monster Mash- Bobby Picket
Thriller- Michael Jackson
Killer Clowns from Outer Space- The Dickies
Psycho Killer- Talking Heads
Ghostbusters- Ray Stevens Jr.
Werewolves of London- Warren Zevon
Pet Cemetery- The Ramones
Time Warp- Rocky Horror Picture Show
Dead Man’s Party- Oingo Boingo
Weird Science- Oingo Boingo
Dragula- Rob Zombie

While I wouldn’t consider Type O or Ozzy to be “really dark bands” by any stretch, “Bark at the Moon” (Ozzy) and “Black No 1” (Type O) would be particularly appropriate for Halloween.

Dead Babies - Alice Cooper

Yes, I’m demented.

The Misfits have ample music for Halloween.

Here are a couple I’ve used in the past:

Why would you not just put Monster Mash on loop?

The glaring omission is ‘I put a spell on you’ by Screaming Jay Hawkins.

I also came up with:
Halloween Parade - Lou Reed
Season of the Witch - Donovan
Love Potion Number 9 - The Clovers
Witchy Woman - The Eagles
Black Magic Woman - Santana
Boris the Spider - The Who
Don’t Fear the Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult
Bad Moon Rising - Creedence

All of these and many more are on my Halloween playlist linked above.

Late to the party but for the record:
Living Dead Girl - Rob Zombie
This is Halloween - Prefer Marylin Manson version but either one
Iron Man - Black Sabbath
Dead - My Chemical Romance
Welcome to the Black Parade - My Chemical Romance

I know I’m more than a month late to the game here, but when I read this thread in October, I knew there was a great old tune missing; stumbled onto the tune tonight:

‘I Put a Spell On You’ by Screaming Jay Hawkins

Came back tonight to post that tune, and realized that I had not read all the text in every response - it was there all along. The Creedence version of this tune is also nice, but nobody did it like Screamin’ Jay.
