It has been quite sometime, a couple of decades I think, since a Mexican rider made a splash in international pro cycling. Today, for the1st time ever a Mexican rider is wearing the leader’s pink jersey at the Giro, Isaac del Toro. He’s a 21 y/o out of Baja California, and recently won the prestigious Tour de l’Avenir (race of the expected future stars of cycling).
