Explain why you think the SEC needs more teams who’ve recently won Football titles and the Big 1G needs the ones who won Basketball titles? In my mind that is very backward. I’m not sure if you are in a region that has Duke grads but it’s a very desirable school and wins hoops Titles. Stanford wins every other sport. I kind of think Stanford may end up landing on their feet but I may be naive.
Yeah UW averages of 70k fans to home games. Probably most in the conference.

Man, the Zoobs are so pissed. 
Although it was an epic travel disaster that cost me three times what we planned and the game didn’t end as we had hoped, I’m SO damn glad I got to see the Utes play in one of the last true Rose Bowl games. The environment against OSU was one of the greatest sporting events I’ve ever been to.
RIP P12, it was fun while it lasted.

Can find a reason to road trip to (almost) every away game once. We’ll also have some good baseball visiting the new stadium.

I agree. I believe it is the best basketball conference in the country right now. This will be a major upgrade for the basketball program. Winning 17-18 games will probably get them in the tournament.
I could see this pod system happening for scheduling reasons.

WV is like CO of the east. Visited and did whitewater rafting, via ferrata, etc. Beautiful if you get to the countryside and do some active adventures.

I’m also a Syracuse grad, so I’m getting a Big East vibe here with Cinci and WVU. For the Orange, one of the most hated schools was West Virginia. They really treated the black players on the SU team badly during the 50s and 60s.
So, I have an ingrained hatred of WVU going into this thing. Possibly more than you all hate BYU, about whom I couldn’t care less.

I’ll say it again. If the Big12 had had any foresight, and not made a knee jerk reaction when OU and Texas said they were going to bail, they would probably not have invited byu, Houston, UCF, and Cincy.

On the other hand, if the Pac-12 had pounced right after OU and Texas left, the Big 12 would have ended up as nothing, and the PAC12 would be one of the three powerhouse conferences. The PAC12 messed up big time.

It’s the one thing that makes Conference Expansion in the SEC seem normal but I think it’s also about to go off the rails.
More than anything, I’m really relieved this is over, and we can pivot to this season.
