With those sunglasses, and the way he’s moving his head back and forth, it’s like he’s channeling Eddie Murphy’s old SNL impressions of Stevie Wonder.
I hope Oregon, USC, UCLA, Oregon State, and Utah send Colorado back to the stone age.
Yesterday’s D-I football schedule certainly was not much to get excited about, this coming Saturday has much more meat to it.
They will. I watched the CU-CSU game yesterday. Hats off to the Buffs for the clutch play at the end, but let’s not pretend CSU is very good. Oregon will drill CU this week bybthree touchdowns, and USC will do the same.
Anybody watch the UW game? They look unstoppable to me. Their receivers made unbeleivable catch anfter unbelievable catch. And Penix found them again and again.
I did not. But that is going to be a tough, tough game. I wonder about their defense (really don’t know how decent it is - more worried about their D and USC’s), because we might have to score >30 to beat them, even with our defense doing a decent job. Feels like both @USC and @UW are going to be similar type games. We definitely need a lot of people healthy and back for those.
I watched a lot of the first half. They scare the bejeebus out of me. They look really good. It is hard to watch USC and UW right now and think the Utes have a chance considering Utah’s current status.
Utah and Colorado are the only members of the 2024 Big XII in the AP top 25.
Loving the tweets (X’s?) calling out Yormark that only OU and Texas are in the top 25.
So you don’t think he wears sunglasses during night games in order to protect his eyes from the bright lights?
After that debacle in Boulder, he might want to get a lighter tint on those shades.
The ones he has now have him seeing things that aren’t there.
OK, in all honesty, who thinks he stays at Colorado long at all? If he continues to have any measure of success in Boulder, the guy will be gone to the SEC in no time.
Or Florida State.
He has all the money he needs. CU will pay him what he wants. If he is able to get CU back in the running for a conference championship and the CFP, will he take an SEC job where it might be more difficult to replicate what he has done at CU. I think his decision will be somewhat based on whether the NCAA goes back to the 25 initials per year. It makes a rebuild much more difficult if they do that. I don’t think he jumps at the first SEC job that becomes available. He is getting all of the attention he needs right now.
But his ego is what drives him, and egos like that never have enough money.
SEC soon …
What does a coach say and do publicly and privately to the CSU player for his late hit? What does a coach say and do publicly and privately when your star QB sticks his fingers inside the face mask of his opponent in what looks like an attempt to hit his eyes.
Norvel publicly said it was a bang bang play that happens a lot in football. I disagree with that opinion. Would it be fair to say that we need to coach our players better to avoid costly penalties?
To the best of my knowledge Coach Sanders has not commented on his son. If I’m that coach, maybe I say that we want to play hard and tough within the rules. We don’t condone extra curricular junk.
He can’t say that.
He built his career on the show.
Yes he’s an amazing athlete. But he was all about extra curricular.
That’s the biggest issue with some of his public statements, or things he’s said to his team. There’s film of him doing exactly what he says not to do. He told players no hats or earrings in meetings, yet he showed up to sign a professional contract in a hat with gigantic earrings.
His own kid does his postgame on field interview in a hat and sunglasses.
You think he’s actually going to admonish him for being exactly what he is?
Plus, it’s just kids having fun. I was skeptical of Coach Sanders being able to do what he’s already done. He’s brought fun back to Boulder. I’m not going to hate on him for that. I don’t think he’s done any smack talk. I think what he has done is brought a swagger. My only reason for hating on him is how he handled the current roster when he took over at CU.
The honeymoon phase is fun.
Let’s see how long that lasts, and how he deals with the tough side of coaching.
The first year is a grace year. If he gets them bowling they will be off to the races.
