Not to hijack the thread and probably already discussed but highly touted WR Luther Burden III who was just drafted by the Bears, is the grandson of Luther “Ticky” Burden who played for the Runnin Utes back in the day. Suspect there are a few here who remember Ticky. Yes we are that old.

I don’t think this is true. It’s been reported by a mizzou beat writer on twitter and a weird AI article which is the source on his wiki, but Ticky (born 1953) would have been 10 years old when Luther Burden Jr. was born in 1963. Physically there is a chance that it’s possible, but I haven’t seen anything from either Luther Burden III or his dad confirming it.

I have a friend in the Indy area whose son went to cardinal ritter at the same time, and knows Luther Jr. When Luther III was coming out of high school I talked to him about it, and he also didn’t think there was a connection.
