D-I College football thread, non-Utah edition

The subjective thing that gets to me is the circular logic when talking about tough schedules

Alabama has a tough schedule because they have to play Tennessee and Georgia
Georgia has a tough schedule because they have to play Tennessee and Alabama
Tennessee has a tough schedule because they have to play Alabama and Georgia

Reminds me of the Big East in basketball in the 80’s

Whoregon, Georgia, ASU, Boise State, and Clemson are definitely in. Everyone else is going to raise the level of rancor on their choice.

Yep the noise is about to make the Concorde SST sound like a rat pissing on a cotton ball.

SMU at Penn State over Alabama at Penn State. Boise is easily getting in the semis.

In other news, water is wet. Annoying for nearly 30 years now

Bama fans writing into AL.com are reminiscent of a couple other fanbases that I can think of.

Some of these are entertaining.

I really hate the fanbase. They were a PIA at the Rose Bowl and I honestly don’t like going to games anymore.

IMO it was the expectation that because it is Alabama that they should automatically be in the Playoff, and that up to 3/4 of the teams should be SEC that irks me.

Growing up in Utah, we saw similar from BYU fans, and is part of why the “Holy War” is so heated.

I’m also reminded of the “Texas is back” crowd.

Anyway, I understand your irritation with the 'bama fanbase.

Yep. Here’s a quote from the article:

“If the SEC wants to maintain its position as the league’s premiere conference as well as its ability to command six to eights spots in the CFP annually,”

I get why they are upset because not all schedules are equal and Alabama did play more Top 25 teams but they all are forgetting they crapped the bed against the 6-6 squads and not the Top 25 squads. This was always a rebuilding year so I am not sure why they are mad.

That’s just stupid.

…when you believe you’ve gotten too big for your really big conference. Sounds familiar. I’m not sure where I heard it…U$C.

I think we are more likely to see two conferences who feel they are too big to share a National Championship tournament.

It certainly seems that way is direction of things to come.

The only thing that kinda lingers is how big the super conference will be and if the non included schools should even retain programs once they are cut out?

Devin Brown leaving Ohio in portal. Utah kid coming home?

Hard to tell. We will need a portal QB. If he isn’t a dual threat guy, he probably isn’t the guy.

I have wondered the same thing. He was Isaac Wilson’s predecessor at Corner Canyon, though he only lived and played here for one year after moving from Arizona.

Matt made me chuckle again.
