Let’s all be honest. Everyone of we old guard Ute fans felt exactly the same elation after vanquishing the evil foe to the south 31 years ago. Chris Yergensen cemented his place forever in Ute lore with that field goal in Provo in 1993.
I was up in the Union bldg, watching the game down in the hallway near the now-departed game room, at one of the TVs that used to be there. I’m so happy I was right there with everyone else on campus watching.
I was at the Sams Town sports book, back in the day, you could go in at 9 am lay down a $5 parlay, watch football all day and get some 40 yr old cocktail waitress named Trixie to bring you drinks all day.
Thirty plus years ago I remember having some 70+ year old bringing me drinks at some dive casino in downtown Vegas, just off the main drag where the Horseshoe and Four Queens are. I asked for a Corona and she brought me…a can of Corona. In those days I didn’t even know that Corona came in cans.
With Alabama at the coveted #5 spot (and wishing they could be “hiding” in Vegas getting drinks from a 70 year old cocktail waitress), here’s this week’s Bottom 10.

Utah St is terrible. Losing to UNLV at home 41-7. Not even halftime.
To be fair to Lincoln Riley, he usually waits till post season to choke.
Well, at least Southern Cal lost. Too bad it was against Penn St.
Sadly BYU looks like world beaters in the B12 right now and while I’m not loving them
Winning I’m gonna hate listening to them chortle about it for the coming weeks even more. I may have to move out of state until they lose.
Let them talk. At the end of the day we get to cheer for Utah and they have to cheer for byu-provo.
When we say byu sucks, we aren’t just talking about the football team.

Hate to admit it, but BYU looks like who we thought Utah was this year. Grateful that almost all the BYU fans I know are pretty cool because they certainly have plenty to crow about right now.
Goes to show the absolutely massive difference a decent to good QB can make.
You’re welcome to come to NC. We have a nice coastline, when there’s no hurricane. Charlotte is a nice city, with easy access to most places on the eastern seaboard, same for Raleigh, and Winston-Salem (talk about a place with crappy drivers though).
Let’s see if it’s blue enough for me in. November.
What shade are you looking for? If you’re curious about UNC-Duke, Duke already beat UNC. Although we could have a very nice Carolina blue sky.

Well, U$C just landed in the coveted #5 spot this week. Given the way we made Cam Skattebo look like a Heisman candidate, I figured Utah would at least get an Honorable Mention. Nope.
