D-I College football thread, non-Utah edition

Seems like this was technically true, but misleading (as most things online these days, I suppose).

After a TD, they play Sanders’ song for a sec. They then play the fight song after the XP.

The Week 2 Bottom 10. It’s a list that lately has me asking the question “Why are these teams trying to play FBS Football?”

As an aside, there’s a YouTuber who interviews Kennesaw State students asking them questions like, “Name three other countries other than America,” or, “What’s 3x3x3,” and invariably gets the wrong answers. One could easily conclude that they are the dumbest college student body in the country after you watch a few of these videos.

This one was funny:

9. Why, oming? (0-2)

The Cowboys are an FBS program that for whatever reason people back East always seem to think is an FCS program. Meanwhile, the Idaho Vandals were an FCS powerhouse who moved up to FBS, and during that time played Wyoming frequently but could never beat them. Then, in 2018, Idaho became the first program to voluntarily move back down to FCS, thus a lot of people still think they are in FBS. So, when Idaho finally beat Wyoming on Saturday, it was one of three FCS-over-FBS upsets over the weekend, but one that people either knew was an FCS-FBS upset but thought it was the other way around or didn’t realize it was an FCS vs. FBS game at all.

I saw a video where Stanford and UCLA kids couldn’t answer 5th grade questions. Believing what you see on YouTube is like believing immigrants break into the country to eat pets and get transitional surgeries.

That said, KSU is tasked to better the community it’s in by trying to further education for those that may not be ready for UGA, Ga Tech or even Ga State. For less than 6k a year an instate kid can go to college.

Sorry, that response is just wild to me. Disparaging and punching down on kids trying to better themselves is wild.

Edit: that’s not meant to be taking a shot at @HoopUte I just know the area of the country I am around and the failure of the school systems. Any chance a region gets a shot at getting more time in class is a blessing. This is an area that shares a border with Majorie Taylor Greene’s district.

FWIW I fully recognize those videos are edited to focus on the dumbest of the dumb.

Yeah, Kennesaw kids are very nice from my experience and it has a lovely Del Taco on the way to Atlanta. Lol

So the “Miracle Max” pill works.

This will be unpopular but a recreated PAC 12 to me with the former teams that went to the B12 and ACC is appealing. Viva PAC 12!

They PAC was just “mostly dead”.

I fell asleep because I am old but what I saw of ASU v Texas State was highly entertaining. I don’t think it’s that bad of a look for ASU. Those Texas State kids have some talent.

Texas State was getting good run yards most plays. I groaned loudly when that poor TSU kid fumbled with about 6 minutes left in the 4th. They sustain a drive there, they probably win instead of giving up a FG to lose.

Yeah I saw it on the replay. As someone with a team who fumbled way too much last week that hurt.

I still don’t know how much better ASU is this year. They beat Mississippi St., which seems noteworthy. They blew out Wyoming, but the Cowboys are brutally awful.

Mississippi State is down bad right now. Ole Miss and Alabama being on both their flanks has hurt recruiting since they really aren’t competing with either.

Remember back before the season started and Kansas had a much higher FPI probability to make the playoffs than Utah? Good times, good times…

K State looks like the real deal,

Maybe, but Arizona is not a good team.

We’ll see if Arizona is not good moving on from here. They are a top 60 team in talent but that 20 ranking was def too high. Also, K-State also beat a good Tulane on the road. Weirdly, Arizona has a higher talent composite ranking than Tulane and K-State. Coaching that talent matters (See Sc, and CU which has a higher talent composite than Utah but underachieves).

Another wild one to watch is Missouri. They haven’t been scored on this year (sure not the best talent) and have a 6-0 streak going since losing a close one to UGA last November.
