The Bottom 10 End of Season Awards

If you remember, they actually did go through with the audit. After all the sturm and drang the results of the audit were… hang on for this bombshell folks… some keys were not returned promptly after an employee left.

All that because Utah didn’t schedule BYU

Ask yourself this: Would FSU been shut out if Deion Sanders was the coach?

Not in a million years. Had little to do with four best teams or four most deserving teams or the four teams that earned the right to play for the ship… The selection should have take a grand total of one minute – the 3 undefeated P5 champions, and the two one loss P5 champions had a head to head to base the decision on. I hope the lawsuit leaves carnage in its wake.

That is not the question on the table. We all know that these decisions are based on providing the most attractive (lucrative) show.
But, now that the choices have been made, what argument will they have?
Florida State is not a Top 4 team. I would say 6th, at best, behind Ohio State and the 4 that got in.

We all know the whole CFP is just a pig in a poke contest. The 12 team playoff criteria for getting in will likely devolve to the same over time.

It’s going to take a major revision of the FBS to get to something that will make things work better. That said 1) whoever ends up being the odd team out will always scream they got screwed; and 2) the bowl game system will be going bye-bye.

Who wants to see the Utah third string play the second string of whoever in a postseason game that has no championship on the line? Even the kids don’t want to play in these games anymore. The non CFP bowl games are looking more and more like the NFL Pro Bowl. The difference: At least the Pro Bowlers get an extra paycheck.

That will suck for the teams not in the CFP. Coach Mac used to say the best thing about going to a bowl was the extra practice. That was practice that teams that didn’t go to a bowl didn’t get. It was a leg up on the competition. That was one of the reasons that byu-provo had an advantage over us.

This all makes sense if you think all P5 conferences are equal. The rankings clearly tell us, they are not.

Nah. The NIT still exists. Bowls will still exist. Nobody is giving up more TV and chances to sell tickets.

Ah, yes, the rankings. – eyeroll –

College football could be darn near the most perfect sporting exhibition if it could figure out how to crown an objective champion. Unfortunately, it only wants to use blue-blood-affirming, biased metrics and rankings to create its subjective playoff and champion.

I’m so close to checking out on the whole sport. Each time I get hope that college football will fix itself or at the very least Utah will have a better shot to play the crooked game, the goal posts move again. It’s exhausting.

Yep. SEC went 7-9 against non-conference P5 teams

Including 0-2 against FSU.

Do you think a 2-1 record beating Cal and Arizona proves the SEC is better than the Pac 12? I don’t.

Also, I find it weird people are mad that an SEC team is in the playoff when the Alliance their conference belong to blocked the playoff expansion. The idea that FSU has a weak conference has been thought that way by such groups as FSU. As mentioned earlier they were trying to leave the ACC due to it being weak.

This is hilarious because I don’t even know what this “objective champion” is that you speak of here.

Does FSU deserve in? Yes. Did the SEC try to get them in? Yes. You know who stopped it? FSU and Utah and all the alliance of the ACC/Pac12/Big 1G when they voted against expansion this year. Same alliance that helped kill the Pac 12.

This is also weird. Utah has a better shot now than ever. But it’s ‘crooked.’ Ok.

Somebody check on our Gator friend.

Their last 5 games are against teams that would have made the 12 team playoff this season if the alliance didn’t shoot it down. That schedule is brutal.

At least they have a bye before that. Sorry, nor sorry. Napier doesn’t survive it.

What’s wild is the three games before the bye are not going to be easy. Napier picked the wrong time to head to Gainesville

Even with 7 home games, 1 neutral (still in FL), and 4 road games, still might be hard to evem match their 5-7 record this year. Also interesting they play 3 FL teams, 2 TX, 2 MS. What, no USF or F I/A U?

Do you have a reliable source for this claim? I would think they wouldn’t care about leaving if the conference was paying B10/SEC money. The delta between the ACC and B10/SEC is something like $30-$40 million per year – but your claim is that lack of competition is driving them out? Seems hard to believe.

Scroll up. I posted two articles from this year and even showed a quote from Bobby Bowden when they were invited to the SEC in the 1990s.

I think it is crap we are stuck in this four team playoff because the ACC, Big 1G and Pac 12 Alliance was trying to spite the SEC and Texas and Oklahoma. It ended up costing us the Pac 12 and FSU’s shot at a title.

The crazy one and because of their talent it’s more manageable is UGA. They have 6 home, 2 Neutral and 4 road (3 of the road games against teams that would be playoff teams in a 12 team this season)

I started this segment link where the big issue is for college football. The Calendar is so messed up and the sport will suffer coach burn out very soon:
