NSV (non-scale victory) I have to buy a new belt!
Bravo!
really funny part of that movie.
I survived 30 minutes on the stationary bike this morning. After having my hip cramp all to hell last evening after the walk, I was worried I would not be able to do it. The last time my hip cramped that much I was walking with my walking stick for two days.
I’m going to request that LA allow me to give multiple stars in this thread. (Yeah, he won’t, but I’d give you lots if I could) Nice ■■■ kicking!!!
It’s almost that time of year! New Year Resolutions that hit the mark or fizzle like an old Coke. Truffle Shuffle Time
I’ll end up well short of my 500 mile running goal for 2024. I found out earlier in the year that I have a torn labrum in both hips, which put a damper on my running for a month or so until I could figure out how to do it without major pain (mainly strength training, stretches, and some new shoes). I’ll come in around 430 miles so it won’t be a terrible year, but it won’t be a great one either. I’ve had to cut back from running 5 days a week to 4 days. I have given up on running any sort of decent time (any run under 10 minutes/mile is a win) and am just grateful I can still get out the door most mornings.
I have stayed within my usual 8 pound weight range all year (205-213) and am currently sitting at around 210. I had grand plans to get down to 200 by year end, but the amount of sweets that have mysteriously showed up at my house over the past month put and end to that. Maybe next year I’ll get there. ![]()
With all of the upcoming family issues in the new year, I will be simply hoping to survive the year.
I started doing water aerobics three times a week, started about 5 months ago. I hope to continue this coming year.
Couch model.
Mrs Ma’ake bought an extra couch, so I’m determined to also prevent this new couch from floating off into outer space.
The things I do in the name of love…
Days are getting longer! More consistent hiking!
I normally cycle between 3000 and 4000 miles per year, and try to get to the gym for some weight training 3 times per week, In June, without any incident, I started having increasing back pain. I have not been to go to the gym since, nor ride a bike.
I have an appointment with a neurosurgeon at the end of January, and for the first time in my life I’m actually eager to sign up for surgery. Miraculously, I was given a spinal injection on the 10th of December, and am walking around almost pain free at the moment.
I’m planning to get on the bike, ride perhaps 10-20 miles on mostly flat terrain today and listen very carefully to my body during and afterward. I cannot afford to make things worse.
I’d kill to be back to my old routine, but I’m extremely grateful to simply be able to mostly carry on a life, start to get back to my regular weight, and get enough exercise that I feel better and sleep well,.
