Many of us Ute fans are anxious today. Oregon will be coming in hot, prepared and loaded for bare. Can Utah match the mental game? The Utes got lots of breaks and good bounces on November 20. Yet still the Utes lead the conference in lots of critical metrics. This game I hope is a dog fight with the Utes sealing the deal with two seconds on the clock from a 50 yard FG that splits the uprights.

I donāt think it takes anything away from Utahās previous performance to acknowledge that this might be a tougher game. The team needs the mentality that this will be a battle, and they need to bring their best game.

I am more excited than anxious for this game. Utah has a lot of playmakers on both sides of the ballā¦maybe not a superstar (except for Lloyd), but a number of guys that can step up and make the big play. Iām excited to see who that will be tonight!

Just want to see us come out punching like we did against Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. Get them playing from behind, forcing the Ducks to shrink the playbook. Defense needs to keep them playing behind in the down and distance game to further shrink the playbook on the Ducks.
We can win this.

Iām not even addressing whether or not I agree with the fluke comment; I just understand that at a critical last minute is NOT the time to start badmouthing your own men. And that is exactly what he did.
Iām a former Navy manā¦ Someone talking crap like that right on the eve of battle, claiming that previous major victory was a āflukeā might well have been shot for questionable loyalty. I literally have zero time for people who cannot push together at a critical moment. Thatās what this isā¦ one doesnāt have to be a programmed true believer to want to smack someone talking like this at such a moment.
Be supportive or STFU at a critical moment. Ancient concept that applies, even in sports. Especially considering that College Football is a thin veneer away from armed combat.

Various other posts on the āflukeā comment make clear Iām not alone in objecting to that term. Iām just one person who, after watching the absolute [$*((&(&%$] of the last 5 years, is not gonna sit by and let things pass. Look where that has gotten us.
I would have no problem with the discussion AHEAD OF TIME. But you chose to be disrespectful and diminishing of the teamās accomplishments on the āeve of battleā (and Iām sure that is exactly what the young mean see it as). Even if it WAS a āflukeā, someone who believes in the men and the program should know that there is a time and place for comments like that.
I get that youāre fired up about this, but it should probably be noted that what we as fans are talking about on a random internet message board has absolutely zero impact on what the Utah football team will do on the field tonight.
As such, all this talk about āeve of battleā, āquestionable loyaltyā and ācritical momentā seems a littleā¦over the top. Itās great to be excited, but others can have differing opinions on how they see things playing out. That doesnāt make them some sort of enemy.
