A year long investigation, arrested today for felony rape and being held in jail with no bail.
Yikes.

Yikes.
He is one of their top players. Bye bye.
So many questions. Seems that SGPD have him dead to rights if it was a year long investigation.
Let’s let the courts and the rest of the legal folks do their jobs before we jump too far.
Agreed. No judgement on my part, was just pointing out that this appears to be a very, very serious charge.
He’ll get his day in court and I really hope his “star athlete” status doesn’t give him any biased advantages (like we’ve seen happen so, so many times).
3 games
That many???
I don’t know anything about these things. A year seems like a long time. Can anybody tell me if that’s typical for one of these charges??
There is no typical in sexual assault cases.
There are all kinds of variables.
Be that evidentiary testing, victim or witness cooperation etc.
TV and movies continue to give the public a very inaccurate glimpse into the legal world.
Could be lots of things. Delays at the medical lab for example. I imagine washington county wanted all the t’s crossed and i’s dotted since it would be a high profile case
2 of them are spring games.
Out of curiosity, I peeked at CB to see how they’re taking it.
Of the 10 discussions on their home page, 9 of them were threads about how they don’t believe Parker actually did it and that the victim is making it all up. The bulk of the discussion is about “false accusations”.
Never change, Zoobs.
Zoobs and MAGAts have a lot in common.
According to KUTV, BYU Campus Police were assisting the St George PD in the year long investigation. Will be interesting to know when BYU was informed. If they knew and still let him play all last season, that’s gonna be a really bad look for the program.
Horrible. I’m ashamed of those of my faith saying stuff like that.
If they knew, and let him play, the mental gymnastics will be interesting. Yes, it will also be an extremely bad look for BYU. All that said, BYU wouldn’t be the 1st school to allow a player to play. One of the 1st things the school would say would be “innocent until proven guilty.”. As of now we are skewering him in the court of public opinion. If he’s guilty, hopefully he pays the full price. If he’s not guilty (not the same as innocent), then there are other things that can be done.
Shouldn’t have gone to CougarBoard - if you want to know what victim-blaming looks like… well, Exhibit A.
Makes me sick to my stomach to read that kind of stuff. They victim-blame and simultaneously ask, “Why didn’t she come forward sooner?”
Meanwhile - with these allegations happening behind the scenes…
Timing couldn’t be worse for this article, could it?
That right there is really infuriating.
If anyone in the athletic program knew about this and let him play anyway, BYU should forfeit all its games from last season.
Ms. Edler must feel sick to her stomach and real dirty right now.
