BYU QB gone

AKA Sgt. Donny Donowitz

Trust me, it was weird. Just because it was a national story does not mean people were not shaking their heads and thinking “those Mormons sure are a weird bunch”.

edit: I’ll say this in a non sarcastic way. My point continues to be that jewish americans were behind the enthusiasm, not the “mormons” It’s the Manischewitz deal. It’s 3000 years of beautiful tradition from Moses to Dave Portnoy.

Sounds like that may have been trolling by… whoever Baylor’s rivals are.

You want to know what’s weird? Signing someone to a promotional deal and them not being allowed to be a spokesman for their most popular product - wine. Also guessing that Jake’s endorsement had little to no impact on sales for Jews…or wine drinking LDS folks.

Cheers!

BYU didn’t make the Manischewitz deal.

It has been an absolute ride to watch the byu fanbase react to this.

when the allegations first came out, it was a lot of defensive attitudes and personal attacks against the complainant.

Then they slowly progressed to “Jake wasn’t very good anyway and we will be better off without him!”

Then in the last 2 weeks as it came out that hed be suspended for their 3 absolute joke games to start the year, we got back to “I could see him as a top 10 qb in efficiency and a darkhorse heisman candidate.”

to the news on sunday that he as gone " the utes did this! they didnt want to face him!"

to yesterday “This Wh*** just wanted to get him kicked out! of course she dropped her complaint as soon as he is leaving!”

to today where we are back to “hes no loss! our backups were better!”

I had dinner at a friends home last night and he indicated that a few months ago his Jewish neighbors had Retzlaff over for dinner and he showed up driving a Lamborgheni. Given what we are seeing with football recruiting this year, I have to believe that some boosters are going all in on football recruiting the same way they have done with basketball.

I have read comments like: “We have a stable of very, very good QBs. We will be fine. I can see BYU going undefeated.” Seriously. Can’t wait to see BYU go 6-6.

Our defense can make the best true freshman QB’s look like fools (at home or on the road [jayden daniels]) I’d much rather face one of them than a multi year starting Sr. QB, even if they’re ‘mediocre’

Wow, that’s more 180s than Tony Hawk does on a half pipe. Or 360s, if you’re Karl Malone.
