We rewatched the game last night. Davies (UCLA’s #24) had played a pretty good game, so maybe it was just frustration. On our first kneel down play, he came charging in and got blocked by King, and they locked up a little. I suspect King told him to grow up or equivalent/more. After that Davies was pouting and jawing. As the players were clustering on the field after the game there was a lot of squaring off and posturing between both the Bruins and the Utes. Kyle actually sprinted into the middle of it to get people to break it up. Another Bruin, #11 DL Grayson Murphy, was really worked up and being escorted away to the locker room by teammates.
I’m surprised how intense this became, frankly. Maybe their defense should be more frustrated with their offense.

Saw a few players from both sides posturing and gesturing at the end. Was yelling at our team to not do anything stupid that would result in potential suspensions. I trust our staff and coaches will take a look at the films and send a message to the players that type of behavior isn’t very smart or disciplined.
The Bruins already have a chip on their shoulder (pun!), they were thinking they could contend.
Their offense had a 14 point negative swing - Reid + the dropped TD. They got turned over on downs at least twice.
If I was a UCLA defender out there all day, causing 15 punts, I’d be pissed, too.

Didn’t love that game, though. So ironic that the guy who scored the winning TD (by a matter of inches) was the Utes’ best receiver the following year.

Sorry about that. Funny thing, though. I was at that game, and when the review confirmed Carrington’s TD to win the game, the TV cameras panned the Utah crowd. I got on camera making a disgusted face. My kids watching at home got a kick out of that.
