Bronny James Drafted

55th pick to LA. Surprise! Lebron is a tool. Bronny didn’t even average 5 pts a game in his sole, unremarkable season at USC. I’m starting to hate the NBA.

Starting to hate? I’ve been pretty apathetic to the NBA for a bit. I don’t think I could tell you the last time I saw an NBA game.

That’s the general sentiment on this board but it’s a big story so I decided to post it. We watched Bronny compete against the P12/Utes so it’s at least relevant in that regard.

With the G league being shut down, where is Bronny going to get the playing time needed to develop?

It won’t be with the Lakers.

G league is shutting down? Didn’t know. I see ads for the NBA so they must still play. Perhaps Bronny can help Caitlyn with the Fever.

I only watched one NBA game all year; and that was only because we were at a hotel and the kids asked me to stop on it.

It was one of the Finals games and I spent the entire game laughing at how big of a whiny baby Luka Doncic was (I had never seen anything other than highlights of him).

One of the most blatant examples of nepotism you will ever see.

It does look bad, because it is bad, but most 2nd round picks are wasted anyway. They rarely make a team.

I think the G League is still going, its the G League Ignite exhibition that was shut down. Anyhow, Bronny being drafted by the Lakers is equivalent to Laura Trump being named the head of the RNC.

And here I thought it was the former board of Directors of UTA that all got caught with their hands in the cookie jar.

Yep, just Ignite, as they kept it so players could keep their ‘amatuer’ status. Doesn’t make sense with NIL.

Lebron takes a (selfish) max contract and Bronny gets a 4 year contract worth over 7 million for his stellar 4.8 ppg on a bad SC team.

Well, they are getting paid. If they play and win, the Lakers can justify the luxury tax, I guess.

If the end up sitting at all, I guess they will pick up their paychecks wearing a ski mask.

Kinda hard to take the NBA seriously these days.

I’ve found it hard to take the NBA seriously since Jordan pushed off.

Yeah. For some reason various Larry Bird highlights keep popping up on my instagram feed. Those were the glory days for the NBA. The league hasn’t been nearly as entertaining since Bird, Magic and Jordan retired.

What’s NBA?

Roughly 50% of households have dropped their cable provider and opted for streaming services (Netflix and Amazon Prime Video) or virtual pay-TV providers (Sling TV). Now, for the tens of millions of streaming households, it takes more of an effort to seek out professional basketball through an existing streaming service. Obsessive fans use League Pass to ensure that they can catch every game, and the highly-engaged fan will regularly tune in for basketball on the national networks or watch their local team on a Regional Sports Network.1

But the casual fan, who in the era of cable would’ve been more likely to flip on a nationally televised basketball game, can now choose from more content than ever, which means the NBA competes with everything from endless streaming options to short-form video content. It’s silly to think that Anthony Edwards, a player who’s been hyped as the next Michael Jordan, is competing with this giant Flemish Rabbit for viewership. But that’s sort of what’s happening.

Yup. My $.02, if Lebron really wanted to win another championship, shouldn’t he take less money so more could be spent on a better supporting cast? It doesn’t have to be just Lebron, it could be across pretty much every professional sport.

Take less money?!??
This is America.
