A delicious article.
FWIW I can point to 3 or 4 players on the Trojans who were better candidates for the Heisman than Williams. Jones, Z. Branch and Rice would’ve been getting hyped at any other school. Only at U$C would the hype machine only focus on one kid. Well, it doesn’t matter now.
Watching Williams pout on the bench got me thinking could we be seeing the next Ryan Leaf emerging here? Just sayin’.
“They’ve got a Heisman Trophy winner at quarterback, so they’re going to make some things. We got ourselves a pig farmer quarterback, so we’re proud of that guy, too,” Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said.
How Utah football shocked USC in 34-32 win - Deseret News
Video here:
Hey Southern Cal, you held the Utes to the least number of points you’ve allowed them in the last 4 games. So that’s nice.
heh heh
I missed this game ~sad trombone~ but this really chapped my hide last year. Glad to hear USC stayed true to form. It makes the victory so much nicer.

The biggest mistake $C has ever made was not getting Kalani Sitake as their HC. The offense might not be flashy, but by god they would play some defense.
They couldn’t get him. I know from very reliable sources that byu-provo is a much better job than Southern Cal.
Neither do Utah players pout, rather than showing up for the news conference after losing?
Eh, that’s on Riley and USC. They told media they wouldn’t make players available, not fair to their players to say they wouldn’t have done media as they weren’t given the chance.
I wonder if Williams is just not a good pocket quarterback. I read earlier this week that the Notre Dame defense kept him contained and he has trouble going through his reads quickly. I for sure saw that yesterday where Williams was much more reluctant to be that “sandlot” quarterback that makes him so dangerous. He was great in the game last year at RE Stadium because he made plays and created using his feet.
Makes one wonder if he is trying more to be a pocket passer to showcase for NFL scouts and it seems he is proving that is not his best attribute.
Cole Bishop when asked “what’s the feeling like know this is probably the last time you play USC and you won?”:
“Fortunately it’s the only feeling I know.”
Riley Heisman QBs are suspect in a lot of ways. Baker trying to make the system look good in Tampa this season.
does anyone know if Jonah Ellis flew back with the team, or is he still in that continuous choke hold from the USC offensive tackle?
I keep hearing about some hit Barnes put on a Trojan that should have been called as targeting. I don’t remember seeing anything like that so what are the SoCal zoobs complaining about?
If they’re referring to the obvious targeting that should have been called on USC’s #8, they’re too clueless about the rules to have a discussion with.
His very last scramble, the last guy he hit tried to spear him with his helmet to the chest and Bryson lowered his head and popped the guy. The guy face-planted into the dirt and was slow to get up. That stalled Bryson a step or two and another downed player shoestringed him or he would’ve gotten another 5 at least.
Hey if Tennessee doesn’t get called for punching a dude SC needs to pipe down: x.com
Funny enough the UT fans are complaining about calls. I’m trying to make “Zoob Energy” a thing when schools complain.
